These are the final two volumes of Wolfe's Book of the New Sun series. Not much to add to my comments on the first half except that they are a cracking good read, and like any art worth spending time with, there is a sense that there are hidden depths waiting to be plumbed, that rereading is called for.
An amusing side note: The not terribly subtle pun Wolfe uses in the title of the series was, apparently, felt to be a bit too subtle by the blurb writer who composed Wolfe's bio. "His four-volume Book of the New Son," he or she writes, "quickly established it as a classic in the field."
